"Kaun jaaye Zauq par, Dilli ki galiyaan chhorh ke....."
But who would ever want to leave the streets of Delhi behind and go away?
I am here though, a Delhi-wali at heart, 13497 kilometers away from where my beloved Delhi is. But I am who I am thanks not just to family, but to my city, my Dilli. One cannot love everything about Delhi. But Delhi makes you love it despite that.
For the 17 years I have spent there and the handful of summers since, Delhi has always drawn me to itself. Every trip home urges, instigates me to introduce my many friends to the intricacies and the multiple histories of this city.
I start this blog with one idea. To make it a heady mix, much like an overpoweringly flavorful nihari, the city and its history being the main ingredients, peppered with the stories of daily life in this megalopolis in the first decade of this millenium. Perhaps some garnishing with the history behind the history and voila.
